Sundog

I photographed a sundog today. It was a beautiful scene, just before sunset in Lenexa, Ks.

Note the hawk on the pole, right-center.

Very beautiful clouds north of my location.

sun dog or sundog (scientific name parhelion, plural parhelia, from Greek word parēlion, "beside the sun", is an atmospheric phenomenon that creates bright spots of light in the sky, on either side of the sun. Sundogs may appear as a colored patch of light 22° to the left or right of the sun.
